As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
• Comfortable in deep water with basic proficiency in watercraft use (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without using hands, etc.)
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
