As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Comfortable in deep water and ability to use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam including a 550-meter open water swim, and treading water for 2 minutes without hands
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not essential
Must be 18 years or older
